The Aegean is a beautiful movie about acceptance and rebirth that was written and directed by Jacob Richardson. For its 2024 debut, we were tasked with making a 5-minute mobile demo for the audience members to play while waiting in their seats.
The demo showcased the main cast in a 2D Pixel art style, and let the players drive a boat around a town which was the backdrop for the movie. The goal, if you could call it that, is to catch as many fish as you can before the movie starts, and we included a Stardew Valley-esque fishing minigame.
